Kavoos Sadeghloo was born in 1969. He became interested in this art in 1984 at the same time as he studied in high school and when his brother entered Tehran University and studied photography.
During the years 1984 to 1988 and while attending the university, he used the evening classes of professors such as Hadi Shefahieh, Yahya Dehghanpour, Masoud Masoumi, etc.
Since 1986, he worked as an intern in the cultural department of Tehran University.
In 1989, he joined the army and in 1990, he took photos and videos of the people’s reception of the return of the prisoners of Iraq and Iran war (for his place of service).
In 1992, he started news and documentary photography in Hamshahri newspaper (Tehran municipal newspaper), then in 1994 he went to Iran newspaper. He had an accident in 1995 during a work assignment for Iran newspaper and unfortunately lost one of his back vertebrae and two of his colleagues.
Kavoos completed additional photography courses at the Technical and Vocational Education Organization of the country, Tehran University’s open classes, and the Asian News Agencies Organization. He graduated from Khabar University in Tehran in the field of photojournalism.
He was the photo editor of the Islamic Republic News Agency, Mehr News Agency, Iran Newspaper, Al Wefaq Newspaper (Arabic), Iran Daily Newspaper (English), Iran Sports Newspaper, Iran Javan Magazine, Iran Azin Magazine and several other publications.
Since 1995, he has been a member of the Association of Sports Writers, Journalists and Photographers of Iran, and since 2003 he has been a member of the International Sports Press Association. Since 2001, he was a member of the board of directors of the Press Photographers Association of Iran for 16 years, and during this period, he was the president of that association and the head of the coordinating council of journalists’ trade unions for 12 years. Membership of the International Society of Journalists and Journalist Association of Iran is also in his professional record.
Being a member of the selection committee of the 9th Tehran Photo Biennale, being the secretary of several photo contests, judging photo contests in important events of the country such as the press festival, holding photo exhibitions and commemorating Iranian photographers are also considered part of his activities.
